Hamburger SV vs Köln Empty Hamburger SV vs Köln

Hamburger come into this match on the back of a really wretched run of form, having lost their third match in a row. They lost 2-1 against Stuttgart away last weekend to complete their recent misery. They are currently on 22 points and are placed 2 places below their rivals for the weekend, Cologne, who have 25 points. The hosts are further without a win in their last 5 Bundesliga games and have avoided defeat only once. At home, it hasn’t been any better with 4 defeats in their last 5 games and they have managed to record just a solitary home win against Dortmund which was way back in November of last year. On the brighter side, they have bought a new and experienced striker in the form of Josip Drmic from Moenchengladbach. The home fans would be looking to get some firepower from their new signing against Cologne.

Cologne, have been performing quite well this season and are only 4 points behind a European spot. They have managed 3 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses on their travels this season and all of those draws have come in their last 3 away games. They drew to Wolfsburg 1-1 last week and they would be looking to get one better over their misfiring rivals when they travel to the Volspark Stadium. But one never knows which Cologne side will turn up as they have a tendency of being highly unpredictable and one should steer away from outright punting on the visitors.

It’s a better option to look at the BTTS markets which has paid out the last time these two sides met, earlier in the season, resulting in a 2-1 win for Cologne.
